Illusive Cathedral

Just a sketch I did today in my new sketchbook (lol I just realised I signed with year 2011 rather than 2012... idiot -_-).

I thought of this little trick recently and wondered how it would work. The technique is as following: I used a pen without ink to sort of "carve" out the sketch on paper, then I shaded over it with 2B and 3B pencils. Thought it was kinda nifty.

Critique welcome. I know the proportions and shadows aren't where they're supposed to be .
